Kandinsky


Concentric Circles and Wassily Kandinsky

Concentric circles are circles with a common center.  Students will learn about Wassily Kandinsky and his famous work of art titled "Farbstudie Quadrate," in which he illustrates concentric circles.

Students will create a tree on concentric circles using paint chips and scissor skills.

1.  Draw tree branches with crayon or paint a bare tree.
2.  Cut and glue various circles to the tree using paint chips for a variety of color.



Kindergarten:

Cut circles to make concentric circles out of construction paper.

The Cave Paintings of Lascaux

Students will learn about the history of the Cave Paintings of Lascaux.  They will recreate a cave painting using earth toned chalks on brown paper.
