Warm Sun Cool Moon

4th and 5th Grades
Students will learn about warm and cool colors.  They will draw a half moon with cool colors and a half sun with warm colors.

3.  Model how to draw.
4.   Students use black permanent marker to draw and either watercolor or tempera cakes for warm and cool colors.

Science Art: Secondary Color Snow

Second Grade

Students learn about snowflakes and paint them with secondary colors made by mixing baking soda, food coloring, and vinegar. They use the mixture to paint the snowflakes.

1.  Watch informational video on snowflakes. 

2.  Students draw snowflakes with sharpies. 

3.  Mix vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring to make secondary colors. 

4.  Paint they snowflakes with secondary colors. 

Cardinals and Birch Trees

First Grade


Draw horizontal lines with black marker on a half sheet of white paper. Cut it into strips to be the tree.
Glue down. Cut the cardinal and glue down. Last add snow with white paint and a Q tip. 




Reindeer Portraits

Kindergarten

Students learn to draw and paint a reindeer. First draw with black crayon. Put out paint one color at a time.
